Hacker Creates Remote For His Myth TV
I have messed around with Signal for a while, and really enjoyed it. That program is $30 so I didn’t like it that much. Signal allows you to control iTunes from your iPhone. But I wasn’t aware that you could control other things with the iPhone.
Kyle Stoneman has managed to successfully set up his own Myth TV box, but unfortunately, he had the discomfort of sitting next to a computer to control it so Kyle put on his thinking cap.
As you’ll see in the video, Kyle manages to hack into his phone and control everything using his iPhone. Pretty cool, eh? You can download the script (which he is making available free) and hear about his exploits.

There has been a rumored copy/paste functionality coming to the iPhone. But how would that work? Is it a key command action with two fingers? Is it a drag feature and a combination of double-taps? Here is one guy’s take on how it could work. You gotta love the amount of work this guy put into this video. But besides the video itself, I absolutely love his theory on how it could work. Using the magnifying glass and a second finger tap you can cut and paste with ease.
iPhone Atlas got the following quote from the creator of the video:
“I had an idea about how to tackle the missing Copy and Paste functionality on the iPhone, and rather than just describing the solution, i decided to mock it up in shake (the compositing package I use for the visual effects work i do). and i set it to music and cut it in the style of the iPhone demo videos Apple has up on their site.”
View the video here. What do you think of this this method for copy and pasting text?

Let’s check out the video first.
You too can play your fave NES games on your iPhone. Apparently it is slow, has no sound, and the controller is buggy but it’s a start! I’m jonesing for a little Castlevania right now.

A very interesting set of videos were uploaded to YouTube by On-Site Research Associates, “a qualitative research company specializing in ethnographic studies.”
In this particular one, it follows up with 2 case studies they interviewed prior and during the iPhone launch process. In this video, they are asked about some of the issues that have come up making the iPhone “less than perfect.”
So what do you think? Is this an accurate representation of what the majority of early adopters feel?

Video on How To Take Apart Your iPhone
![]()
There are some adventurous individuals out there, and I am sadly not one of them. The very same day the iPhone was released, there were reports that some people were taking the phone apart to see the insides. As helpful as this is to others, I would never try it, but just in case you want to try taking your iPhone apart, I have some instructions for you.
Some of you might not want to pay $84.95 for Apple to replace your battery. Maybe, you don’t want Colorware to customize the color of your iPhone for you. You are a do-it-yourself type of person. The only problem now is how to get into the impenetrable looking iPhone. A company called PDAParts.com sells supplies to help repair not only PDAs, but your iPhone also. Why sell the parts if you don’t know how to get in and replace them, right? So they have posted a video which you can find on their own website and YouTube (of course) instructing you just how you take your iPhone apart.
Of course they warn:
“This is one of the hardest repairs we… more...
The iPhone Is So Simple A 1 Year Old Can Use It
Yes we all know the iPhone is simple and the last post to involve small children mentioned a 2 year old. Well that record just got beat, by a 1 year old.
iPhone and Screen Smudges
How has your iPhone screen been treating you? Despite the concerns some people have with the multitouch in the lower part of their screen, I have had no issues with mine. But one thing that I do notice is the screen smudges. It’s not a surprise to me. It’s the summer and in Boston, where I live, it is hot and sticky. So every time I get a phone call and I put that gorgeous screen up to my sweaty face, I have to wipe the bad boy down with my shirt. Add my fingerprints and you get another layer of film that I need to wipe off. (I disgust myself).
Hey, that’s what you get when you have a screen that covers the entire side of the phone right? Check out this video which takes the iPhone commercial we all know and love and adds a cool effect.
