The iPhones Hidden Details

When the iPhone was announced at last months Macworld Expo in San Francisco, Steve Jobs ran over a list of things that the iPhone will be offering, but a few of those things mentioned were not really explained in enough detail, which is where Action Corp comes in. These guys like to look at the finer things in products that the manufacturers may or may not have gone in enough detail about, and the iPhone was target number one when Apple introduced it in January.

The following video talks about the Calendar, which was mentioned in Steve’s Keynote but never actually talked about, GoogleMaps and, most interestingly, ringtones on the iPhone. I won’t give too much away but the video does reassure on a lot of things and it’s the latter which I’m sure will appeal to most.

Microsoft CEO Ballmer Laughing at the iPhone

I’m sure deep down he’s a thoroughly nice chap, and it’s probably biased of me because I prefer Apple to Microsoft products, but through watching this video I can honestly say Ballmer sounds like the biggest idiot ever, especially at the start of the video.

Throughout he tries to tell us why the iPhone is over hyped but it’s clear he’s afraid of Apple’s business plans, especially when you see him put on the most unbelievably fake laugh I’ve ever seen when confronted with the question “What was your first reaction when Apple pulled out the iPhone?”

It’ll be interesting to see if Apple can prove this guy wrong.

Windows Mobile vs iPhone OS X

This video has been about for a few days now but I’ve just discovered it on YouTube. It’s a comparison video of the Windows Mobile operating system, running on an O2 XDA PDA, verses the iPhone’s OS X operating system. Although it’s not the most technical of videos, it does go over some of the features both phones have, and where the Windows Mobile does have a few advantages, the iPhone’s interface is second-to-none.

Having said that though, I think we have to bare in mind that Windows Mobile runs on PDA’s and Smartphones and, although I consider the iPhone to be a Smartphone, it’s technically not classed as one, so maybe a few lacking features is okay? Still, check it out and see what you think - it’s amazing how Apple can make an operating system so simple and easy on the eyes where Microsoft seem to love to pack a phone out with features that aren’t necessary in some circumstances.

iPhone The Almighty

It turns out the iPhone is so much more than what we all originally thought. It’s not just a phone, an iPod, and an internet communications device, oh no, it’s a bottle opener, pepper spray, cheese grater, portable shower, thermometer and so much more. Don’t believe me? Check out NBC’s Late Night show mock advert of what the iPhone actually is. And you’re all complaining about the high price tag - so unappreciative is what you are.

Does the Phone Need Reinventing? Jobs Thinks So

Posted January 24, 07 11:00 AM by Gregory Ng

Here is a video from CNBC’s interview with Steve Jobs. In it, he claims the iPhone will reinvent the phone industry (presumably the same way the iPod revolutionized the portable music market). He also talks about why Apple got into the phone industry and it isn’t because all the Mac Faithful have been asking for one for years.

This reminds me of how, a year ago, when asked whether Apple was going to ever do a phone, Steve Jobs said, “Get a Treo”. Boy, how times have changed.

Mad TV Introduces the iPhone

I’m not too sure what to make of this, it’s not the funniest of clips but it would be complete sacrilege to not include it on iPhoneMatters.com. Michael Mcdonald does Steve Jobs on Mad TV, introducing the iPhone - I don’t know what’s more entertaining, the audience or Michael Mcdonald. Having never really watched Mad TV (we don’t get Fox over in England), I don’t know if this is the norm for the show or what but, well, take a look for yourself.

SNL Weekend Update iPhone Special

Posted January 22, 07 3:00 PM by Gregory Ng
Categories: Videos Humor

In case you missed it - the Saturday Night Live Weekend Update with probably the most horrible Steve Jobs impression imaginable.

It seems like this was just adapted from the Steve Jobs iPod Invisa Spoof from last year. Although there is a good line in “You can film a movie while watching a movie while making a phone call all while watching your favorite episode of the Office”
