Cult of iPhone

For those of you with boring phones at the minute looking to get that iPhone theme right now, look no further. As many of you will recall a few weeks back I posted up some Sony Ericsson iPhone themes for those iPhone-wanting-Sony-Ericsson-owning people out there.

Today I’ve stumbled across a couple more themes, this time for Windows run Pocket PC, Moto Q and for Motorola phones, although the latter I can’t actually confirm as a set of themes or simply wallpapers, but it does look like the former (feel free to leave us a comment and let us know on that one).

But wait, there is more! I also managed to find these iPhone tones which include the famous ring tone demonstrated at Macworld two months ago plus the message received tone, which sounds like nothing more than something out of iChat. Still, one mustn’t grumble.

A couple of weeks ago I brought to your attention the iPhone Countdown Webpage which shows a lovely image of the iPhone with a countdown timer until launch, or at least June.

But recently whilst browsing the web for Widgets I came across a couple of countdown timers for the iPhone and one in particular (pictured) is my personal favourite due to it also offering the latest ‘Hot News’ from Apple’s website. In all there’s 5 available, all coming in a variety of formats, but all doing just the same job pretty well. For the iPhone geeks and tech-lovers out there this is surely a must have.

This is an amazing iPhone holography found via Digg. It features a pretty cool 3-d rendering of the iPhone demo seen on Apple.com and at Macworld.

It seems that there’s no stopping people from wanting to get the iPhone experience a little early. Okay, so you won’t get the complete experience, but surely looks is enough at this moment in time, considering none of us have actually used an iPhone yet - so we don’t know what we’re missing out on, right?

Anyway, I managed to find a few iPhone themes in a variety of formats for the following Sony Ericsson phones:

Well that’s 105 days until June, not the actual launch date, but as the launch date hasn’t been announced yet I don’t think one can be too fussy.

Some clever so-and-so has whipped up a website with a countdown timer for the launch of the iPhone - maybe it’ll get adjusted when we know the actual launch date, but until then this will definitely do. Thinking about this, is Apple one of the very few companies who don’t announce exact launch dates until literally the day it is launched?

I’m sure many Apple fan boys and girls out there will have seen the numerous “unpacking porn” pictures that appear on the net, one of the most popular being from around a year ago when one user photographed the entire unpacking of his MacBook Pro, as featured on TUAW.

But today we have a first, one user unpacking his iPhone over at iPhoneUnboxed.com. It seems that even though the shiny device hasn’t even been released yet, one lucky chap has managed to get his hands on the iPhone and taken photographs of the moment he took his new toy directly out of the box.

I’m all for cake but could I munch my way through an iPhone cake or a Mac Mini cake without getting teary eyed? Hell yeah! For the life of me I can’t find who made these beautiful cakes, all I know is that one lucky 15 year old received a Mac Mini cake for his birthday recently and another fella (I assume) received an iPhone cake for his birthday - it’s the latter we’re more interested in here at iPhone Matters but the Mac Mini does look much more appealing.

There’s also a nice story to go along with the iPhone cake at Gizmondo.com for those that are up for a chuckle - I’m doubting it’s the real story though.
