Want an iPhone? Don’t quite have the $500 admission fee to the iPhone party? How ‘bout one for $400? The folks at TUAW tell how that’s possible. Scope it out here.

Holy $100 off Batman! All the iPhone goodness for $399! From my own personal experience, Apple’s refurbished products are of very good quality. They really put them through serious testing to make sure they’re good to go! I know I ordered a Mac mini December of last year, and it still runs like a champ! If you’ve been on the iPhone fence because of price, this is one way to get in on it. Have any of you purchased anything from Apple refurbished?

On this site, you can claim dollars in exchange to your old cell phone. Or, you can donate it if you are feeling in a good mood. Many brands are available, mostly all the brands on the market. I tried a quote on one of my phones and found out I can get $14.00 for it. If you haven’t gotten yourself an iPhone yet, the price of your old cell phone can be applied towards the purchase of the $499 or $599 device.

If you want to get rid of your iPhone for any particular reason, then you can, and that can also be applied to a purchase of a new cell phone. Now the question that I would ask is: Why would you want to get rid of your iPhone?

This statement has yet to be confirmed but I strongly believe it to be true.  Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster claims that AT&T is sharing $3 - $11 per iPhone subscriber per month with Apple. Could this level of control have caused other providers to reject the iPhone, Verizon included?

Exact details are scarce at the moment which Piper Jaffray has admitted to so this is basically an estimates game but the proof is seemingly right in front of our eyes. Munster estimates that Apple is receiving $3 per current AT&T subscriber with an iPhone and as much as $11 per new subscriber with an iPhone

While the revenue sharing is a good deal for Apple it may later ead to trouble with AT&T and potentially other problems in the Cellular world. The bad is customized plans will have to be created in order to accomodate Apple’s demands and providers will have to upgrade their network just for one phone when other phone manufacturers could be blocked off from these upgrades or will not invest in these new technologies.

It hasn’t even been a month since the iPhone has been on the market and already rumors are stirring up of future models and pricing. Arstechnica is reporting that a few companies have claimed to have gotten the contract for future generation iPhones and a pricing structure has been suggested. These rumors if true would indicate that Apple is ready to unleash the iPhone Nano a few months from now at half the price of the 1st Generation iPhone. Is Apple crazy or are they trying to keep up with an everchanging industry?

The report states a launch date of sometime in September with a price point of $249 - $299. If a new iPhone were to come out so soon then there is no way Apple would replace the current model but instead offer it as a lower end version like an iPhone Nano. A new updates and lower price to the 1st Generation iPhone so soon would not be received well and the backlash would be huge.

It has been rumored that O2 beat out other wireless carriers such as T-Mobile and Vodafone to carry the iPhone. If this is true as The Finacial Times claims it is then Apple will supposedely do a different carrier for each country in Europe for the iPhone’s release late this year.

As of late we’ve heard confirmations and denials as to which carrier would get Apple’s iPhone and many were uncertain of it’s fate in Europe due to the lack of 3G in the device as 2G networks such as EDGE are very rare.

O2 has also beaten a strong competitor, Vodafone to the punch if this rumor can be confirmed. But we’ll know very soon if it is as the contract will be signed quickly which will be followed up by an announcement.

But Apple is still negotiations with other wireless carriers across Europe and for when the iPhone’s exclusivity ends with other carriers such as O2.

Matt Kieffer recently e-mail iPhone Matters to tell us of his plans of getting the 8GB iPhone for $180 cheaper and we thought it’d be a great idea to share. There’s no gimmicks, no scam, no illegal goings on, just a loop in AT&T’s little system. Read on below to find out how Matt plans to get his iPhone on the cheap.

Here’s something I’m attempting that I thought might be interesting to readers.  I just signed up for a 2 year contract with ATT through LetsTalk.com.  I got myself and my wife a pair of Samsung SYNC phones (3G - Wheee).  But here’s the interesting part.  With mail in rebates, I’ll get $180 back from this purchase while having not paid out a single penny.  The phones are free (and not too bad either), the 2-day shipping is free, and the rebate pays me back.  The family plan I’m signing up for is the same as all of ATT’s plans.

I expect to purchase my iPhone tomorrow just like the rest of your readers, but upon activation through iTunes, I’ll just be adding the $20/month iPhone internet plan.  Result = same family plan as if I went into… more...

As a follow up to Greg’s posting speculating that Nintendo would sell games via the iTunes store made for the iPhone.  Even though this is a rumor it could true for 2 reasons.

Handhelds Are A Big Source Of Income
So far Nintendo has sold 40 millions DS units since launch in late 2004, these are very good statistics. Nintendo and Sony (eh maybe not Sony) might view Apple as a threat in the handheld space should they dip their feet into mobile gaming. It would be beneficial for Apple and Nintendo to join together on this, Apple would get more publicity and Nintendo would secure themselves in the mobile market.

Nintendo Knows Touch
For 3 years Nintendo has integrated touch with it’s handhelds and so far it’s been a big hit. It was one of the reasons I purchased a DS in the first place as it was far more innovative than the Gameboy. But to tie this into Apple the iPhone is based on touch, it’d be a 600 dollar paper weight without heavily utilizing it’s touch interface and heck even Nintendo jumped on to the touching bandwagon. To those who have been anticipating the device, we’ve had prices go crazy, any where from 500-1,000 dollars depending on whether or not a contract was part of the deal. We’ve only seen high prices go up, but now a sigh of relief can possibly be let out from all of us. If this rumor holds true (I doubt it) then we can save a Benjamin buying the iPhone.

Coming our way from The Consumerist (which has the tendency to utilize it’s audience in order to get companies to change their business practices in some regards) reports that you may be able to knock 100 (one hundred) dollars ($) off (off) an iPhone purchase. The claim that by simply wheeling and dealing will reduce the price is a little hard to believe. Apple has rarely reduced their costs and wouldn’t change due to the release of a new device, maybe Dell, notorious for deals and coupons but Apple? No way, no way do I buy (parenthesis) this rumor.

Besides it’s from an Apple telephone sales rep, this, in my opinion is a great way to drum up some anticipation before June 29th.

Yep, you guessed it, the ‘Dummies’ series of books is planning to release one for the iPhone, because the device is incredibly complicated to use, apparently.

I can’t see it myself but there’s 256 pages of information to keep the dumbest of iPhone users busy for a while. The book covers “Getting started with your iPhone, setting up iTunes and your iPhone, getting organized with your iPhone, browsing the Internet with your iPhone, sending and receiving E-mail with your iPhone, buying music and videos from the iTunes store, taking great pictures with your iPhone, organizing and managing your photos, syncing up with your desktop, protecting your information, troubleshooting, and more” according to the Amazon.com book description.

It’s going to set you back $14.95, but considering you would have just purchased a $500 iPhone I don’t think an extra $14.95 will hurt. The only downfall is that this book isn’t due to be released until three months after the iPhone is released in the States - September 25th 2007.

Phones2UDirect have listed up on there website some tariff details for the iPhone, despite the launch date not yet being announced and no word from either Vodafone or O2 about selling the iPhone to its customers, unless Phones2UDirect know something we don’t.

According to the website, you can get the 8GB Apple iPhone on Vodafone for £40 a month with 500 SMS and 500 minute call allowance, they also have a slightly lesser tariff coming in at £35 a month. O2 are also listed on the website with 400 minutes and 100 SMS allowance per month for £35. Whilst I’m almost certain both Vodafone and O2 would offer the iPhone at a cost to its customers at a discounted price, the website does mention that the phone can be purchased offline (no network restrictions).

Having searched on both O2 and Vodafone websites, absolutely nothing has come up about the iPhone so please take all of this with a pinch of salt until either network operator or Apple have announced something. Until then, stay posted!
