RAZR2 vs N95 vs iPhone
With the announcement of the RAZR2 today, Tech Digest have run a comparison review of Motorola’s “wickedly cool” phone with Nokia’s N95 and Apple’s iPhone. The winner? Read on.
The review goes over a variety of different features each phone has to offer, including the camera, video and music playback, size, connectivity, “whizzy features” and as with any respectable review, the downsides of each product. In terms of music and video you’ve probably already guessed that the iPhone has won hands down, although the other two phones should allow over-the-air downloads, something which at present many are unsure the iPhone will do. The camera’s on the iPhone and RAZR2 are mediocre by today’s standards, both offering 2-mega pixels, but the Nokia N95 wins with its beautiful 3-mega pixel snapper. The iPhone loses points to the other two phones on its size but the 3.5-inch screen compared to the RAZR 2’s 2.2-inch and N95’s 2.6-inch. The iPhone is flamed for its out-of-date 2.5G technology where the N95 and RAZR2 have 3G standards, but the RAZR 2 doesn’t have Wi-Fi which both Nokia and Apple’s devices do.

Brevisys Pi Really iPhone?
The LG Prada may be a little too much like the iPhone to you, but when you see Brevisys’s Pi, you’ll think again.
Brevisys are planning to release a direct iPhone competitor which basically looks, feels and acts like the iPhone, according to Electronista. The phone has a 3.8 inch touch screen with a 800x480 resolution, a 2-mega pixel camera on the back and VGA on front for video calling, Wi-Fi internet access, as well as the ability to play music and video on either 4 or 8GB of flash memory - with the ability to add 30 or 60GB of hard-drive storage. Though, the most notable similarity between the Pi and iPhone is the operating system, which although run Linux OS and Mac OS operating systems respectively, look uncannily alike.
I don’t know if a lawsuit will follow, as is accustomed these days when one company releases a product all too similar to another companies, but Brevisys claim “Our multimedia players began their design and development process over a year before the recently unveiled Apple iPhone® and LG Prada Phone. As a result we have our own patents pending for… more...

BenQ’s New iPhone Killer?
Back in early February I wrote about a few prototype devices BenQ had on offer, some of which were rather futuristic, others which were a tad silly, but none the less they are there.
Today, however, Trends News Agency have posted up a bit of information on a possible ‘iPhone killing’, or rather ‘competing’, device with no name, specifications or much else to show - it’s actually just a fancy concept image listed up as a rumour.

The little translucent blue thing in the middle can slide in either direction. When it is placed where it is shown in the picture, you get a semi-conventional numerical keypad so that you can dial your calls. Slide that thing all the way to the bottom, and you get a fully unobstructed view of your widescreen videos. I’d imagine they implented some sort of on-screen QWERTYness too.
I’ve got to say, BenQ are pretty good at designing phones but do they ever actually implement the grooviest designs they have on offer? I’ve not seen one yet!

Sprint Nextel, the nation’s third largest wireless carrier said yesterday that they will begin selling a new Samsung phone with $0.99 over the air music downloads.
This new device is called the UpStage and although it is trying to get a foothold in the over-the-air music download space, I don’t think Apple should be too concerned. Because even if the phone is all that it says it will be, it still only maxes out with 2GB of external memory. And that is a max out. The factory install comes with a mere 64MB of MicroSD memory.

Sure, it is innovative: if you consider innovative being a device that looks like a phone on one side and a cheap Creative Zen on the other. There won’t be any iPhone killer talk coming from Sprint Nextel.
