What I’d Like To See Developed From The iPhone SDK
Ever since Apple laid their plans out for an SDK I’ve been racking my brain about what the development could create and to stir it up, I’m going to toss in what I think might a good App.
Remote Lojack
I know this App is already available for those who’ve already Jailbroken their iPhones but it’s fairly limited only reporting a
vague location. It’s not the best thing to rely on when your iPhone is stolen but then again it’s the only thing. The major limitation is the lack of a GPS module that would be able to pinpoint your iPhone’s
exact location but then again, why not have some fun with a petty thief.
If you remember when the iPhone was being heavily promoted a year ago, one of the biggest advertised features was the always on data connection which means a backdoor that the owner could use to log what’s going on under the radar. Heck, you could even insert random syblminal messages or try to convince a thief he’s the chosen one and have him meet you at a bus stop only to be karate chopped. I’ve… more...
Readers, What Are Your Thoughts On Apple’s SDK?
Thursday’s big announcement made waves in the iPhone development community and have already got you anticipating June like there’s no tomorrow. While we’ve been enthusiastic about Apple finally introducing a SDK, we’d like to hear your word on it.

During a recent excursion to an AT&T store for the daunting task of picking a phone out for my mom I managed to try a phone that didn’t start with a lowercase “i”. Despite comparing the iPhone to devices running those other OSs and managing a few named after a particular fruit (Blackberry!) I came to one startling conclusion.
For your best interests I can litter this post with a rant that would ensure a few nasty emails for that fact that standing in an AT&T store for an hour at 10 PM is never fun so I will get straight to the point: web browsing really does suck, especially on Windows Mobile based phones. The main problem was the small screens but when. Moving onto the HTC Tilt, it was still smushed together. I had never used a wide variety of phones, only the basic of the bunch LG flip phones with
that humuliating mirror on the front before switching to my iPhone.
The other problem was Windows Mobile wanted to act like it was on a 7 inch screen and in all honesty it’d be better suited for that instead of a… more...
iPhone SDK Could Be Delayed
After promising eager iPhone owners everywhere a chance to have 3rd party Apps without the hassle of Jailbreaking and whatnot, it was expected to arrive February. Well it’s nearing towards the end and woopty doo, no announcement of even so much as a mention. Turns out
the SDK may be delays up until the end of March.
A source close to Business week tells them that the delay may be 1 - 3 weeks an won’t even being alluded to until March. Besides choosing to not acknolwedge a whole month (it’s leap year you pricks, it’s only once every 4 years) they might avoid any mention of it all.

Lately I’ve been using my iPhone more and more to type up my Blog
posts and have found some flaws and opportunities for Apple to improve the interface for Bloggers.
I find myself living off the notes App which isn’t a knock against our Blogging Software Expression Engine, Safari dumps loaded information
as soon as it possibly can which brings me to my first point: Safari needs to retain it’s loaded data longer. Before 1.1.3 I had yet to experience this problem.
But besides that, the Notes App needs a massive overhaul. I would love to see support for HTML code insertion through a one click button. It takes cycling through 3 keyboards to type up basic HTML.
Besides the obviousness of adding copy and paste for easy link insertion, attaching images from the photo library. Most if not all moblogging services attach an image in a post if one is included.

Shortly after Apple released the 1.1.3 update, a Jailbreak was soon found but would be long delayed. It took some leveraging from the community and fellow hackers to force open the Dev Team’s hand but after that we got another method that required less work and made it easy for the end user but came from another source.
The irony is that this other source accomplished this feat in days. George Hotz and Zibri released their own Jailbreaking methods which were later incorporated into Apps (iJailbreak and Zibri’s App) that made it a one click process. We even got a working Software unlock and compatability for 4.6 Bootloaders something which the Dev Team has yet to do.
I guess the end question is whether the Dev Team is worth it anymore. I’d say it’s better to support the individuals of the hacking community.

AUTH:tannegodarzi:tuttle
I recently used iJailbreak to Jailbreak my iPhone but have run into a problem experienced by others: YouTube does not work.
There have been proposed fixes such as resetting your time or installing the YouTube patch from the Installer source i.unlock.no but neither have worked. We’ll be looking into this more and update you when a fix becomes available.
