At iPhoneMatters, we spare no expense. Our total gear between Jason and I are as follows: 15” MacBook Pro, Snow i Book, 12” Powerbook, 15” Powerbook, 2 backup batteries, using a Verizon RAZR as modem, and of course I am blogging from my Motorola Q with 2 extra batteries.

Who says you need a generator?

T-18: Allan

Spent the last 30 minutes catting with a cool guy named Allan. He was out doing a late grocery shop and stopped by to check out the display and chat for awhile. We chatted about Apple, the Apple TV, notebook cmputers and of course, the iPhone.

The mosquitos are driving me nuts! And I am getting hungry. Might be time to crack open the bag of pretzels.

T-19: Displays, Hunger Pains, and Mosquitos

&tIt downpoured about 3 hours ago and although I’m glad it still not raining, the mosquitos are out in full force. Waiting for Hadley to join me so I can run to the car and get some Bugspray.

So the display is almost finished. It is a Dell computer with a 40 inch Samsung Plasma TV rotated 90 degres running Windows! Somehow I think that was an AT&T decision not an Apple one.

Right now I just have my chair and my computer bag out of the car. Eventually I will go get the camping aero bed that I brought with me.

T-20: Some Excitement

Finally some action. A truck just pulled up and 2 guys walked in. I got out of the car and asked them what was going on. The guy said they were setting up iPhone displays. He sad this was the second of 4 stores they had to do tonight. There is also heavy security inside. Check out the size of the box!

According to the guy, they are receiving reports that there are people camped out at every store Some are up to 15 right now. I expect that number to grow rapidly.

T-21: Guess who is #1 in Line?

Well, I’m here. And I’m the first one here. It looks like my careful planning paid off.

We chose a corporate AT&T store in the suburbs wih a defined area in front, plenty of parking, plenty of places to eat and use the facilities and most importantly, confirmed to have iPhones!

Since no one is here yet, I’m going to try and catch some shuteye in my car and start setting up camp at midnight. (or if someone comes) whichever comes first.

T-24 Hours: Grrrr

It is a little after 6 PM EST, 24 hours before the iPhone release. I should already be in line waiting but I am stuck on the train due to a switch problem! Out of all the days in the year for the switch to have a problem. Anyway, look for periodical posts throughout the night and tomorrow from the Phone line. (hopefully the next post will be from the line)
