Air Sharing Pro Rocks!
![]()
The iPhone app, Air Sharing, has come a long way. The app was one of my first transfer apps and I have stuck by it’s side ever since. If you have not tried Air Sharing Pro, I highly recommend it. Why? Allow me to tell you.
Avatron has recently released Version 2 of Air Sharing, now renamed Air Sharing Pro, with several new additions that make it once again, a competitive file transfer app in the app store.
A new feature in the pro version includes the ability to set up Air Sharing Pro to access remote volumes: MobileMe iDisk, FilesAnywhere, MyDisk.se and WebDAV servers. You can open, copy, move, paste and rename on remote volumes. And for those that aren’t sure what WebDAV is; WebDAV enables you to wirelessly access your files using a browser.
A wireless network isn’t necessary, however, Air Sharing Pro focuses on that by proving features like the ability auto-detect two or more users on the same Wi-Fi network. You can view your files, in all the formats the iPhone and iPod touch supports: .pdf, .xls, .doc, jpgs and others. You can also email and print files - Wirelessly!
Of course, that is not all you get buying the feature packed program. Here is a list of things you can do via their website:

Nice review! We might just have to add “Air Sharing Rocks!” to our app description.
Just to clarify one thing… Air Sharing Pro is indeed version 2, but it is not a successor to Air Sharing. Within a couple of months, we will be rebranding Air Sharing as “Air Sharing Classic,” and adding some of the Air Sharing Pro features to it. At that point, both Pro and Classic will be version 2.1. We will keep them in sync after that, and continue to enhance both applications. Generally we will be adding new features to Air Sharing Pro first, and migrating some of them into Classic sometime afterward, but in some cases we will add features to both simultaneously.
Hope this clarification helps. Cheers!
