Airplane Passenger Mimics iPhone Commercial And Gets Insulted Instead of Praised

imageGet a load of this story: a passenger on an airplane that is sitting on the tarmac because of weather, decides to use the latest airline themed iPhone commercial as inspiration, checks the weather on his iPhone and decides to tell the flight attendant that the weather is fine.

Normally you would have a situation where the flight attendant would just humor the passenger and thank him for the information. But instead, they take the info to the pilot. This is where the pilot would probably say something along the lines of, “Why are you bothering me with this information?” But instead, he decides to call out the passenger instead of keeping his disdain to himself:

“If the passenger with the IPhone would be kind enough to use it to check the weather at our alternate, calculate our fuel burn due to being rerouted around the storms, call the dispatcher to arrange our release, and then make a phone call to the nearest Air Traffic Control center to arrange our timely departure amongst the other aircraft carrying passengers with IPhones, then we will be more than happy to depart. Please ring your call button to advise the Flight Attendant and your fellow passengers when you deem it ready and responsible for this multi-million dollar aircraft and its passengers to safely leave.”

Imagine that? Dude got pwnd. And he deserved it. It’s cool to use your iPhone to gain information, people, but don’t be a tool about it.

    Seriously, I like that you have love for the iPhone, but you are maybe taking this online job app for Apple too far.  The iPhone is a great device, sold a lot of them, but to do this at this rate is going to make you a one trick pony…yes, people will upgrade to a 3G iPhone when it comes out, yes people will make fun of Apple ads that show “real people” in those ads and no, it is still not necessary to have an Apple rep sell you your iPhone, the phone does that more than any salesperson could do. 

    Maybe you need to put down the phone for a few days and do something else…eat.  Listen to Opie and Anthony on XM 202.  Flirt with a girl.  Play some sandlot football.  Something…please something!

    For my career, I google everyday the keywords Apple or AT&T, the two companies that are worth looking at in the telecom industry right now and one way or the other I find you.  Please stop and get a girlfriend and chill out about the iPhone. 

    I am concerned for your longterm well being…bt.

  3. Greg dont listen to this joker and stop all this iPhone stuff. Personally I cant get enough of the iPhone. I love reading about it talking and it and just showing it off. I think BT is really just jealous cause he knows the iPhone articles are causing a lot of traffice to your website and Im sure your ad revenue is going up because of it. Anyways dont stop, and BT is an idiot. iPhone’s are better than a girl anyways (…not really but almost…).
