Telekinesis is an open-source application distributed by Google Code that will allow you to use your iPhone as a remote. Installing this software and setting it up with your iPhone will allow you to:

-Stream music and videos from your computer
-Screen capture with mouse click and basic typing support
-Simple iTunes Remote control
-Browse your files
-Run applescript remotely
-iSight image capture
-Basic Spotlight search
-Easily create and add more applications

Installing is a very quick procedure. Simply start up iPhone Remote, choose a login ID and password, and go to https://5010 from your iPhone. That’s it!

  1. This was one of the first pieces of remote software for the iPhone. Overall it’s very good but seems to have stalled in it’s development. Maybe once the official SDK arrives this little gem can get back on track.
