Do Not Upgrade To 1.1.3

Ben Wilson of iPhone Atlas and one of the few to actually try 1.1.3 in its pre release form is offering an obvious warning: do not upgrade if you have hacked your iPhone.

This process is standard procedure but mixed news gets around very easy and with a previous stunt that actually deleted some important binaries, people can get burned very quickly. So a reminder, wait until a Jailbreak method is posted (do as you always do and check back here daily, we insist) then upgrade away.

According to Ben, 1.1.3 will be a bitch to downgrade.

  2. I think I’m going to upgrade and lose all my hacks, I can go a few more weeks without them until the sdk comes out. I’m sure the native apps that are created with the sdk will be more stable than the jailbroken ones.

  3. I had 1.1.1; something went buggy and I had to restore to 1.1.2 Needless to say I knew I’d lose the 3rd party apps. So I did upgrade to 1.1.3. I suppose I’ll be a week or so w/o my beloved third party apps; but Im confident there will be a fast fix. If not; the SDK comes out in Feb.
