Enable Restrictions on the iPhone

imageChances are that Apple will have a new iPhone model rolling out within the next 3 months. That means you’ll want a new iPhone which means you’ll want to unload your old one. One decent place to unload an old iPhone is to your kid, iPhones are still pretty cool and the kid will love it. On the other hand you don’t want your kid surfing the porno sites and buying apps left and right. A quandary one supposes.

Perhaps not, it turns out that Apple has built in a method to control just what an iPhone managed by you can do even when you’re not around. The peace of mind restoring, functionality robbing feature is called restrictions and you can learn how to keep kids (or anyone else) from doing things with their iPhone you don’t want them to by checking out a tutorial posted at iPhone and iPod touch and kids. The parental control features aren’t as robust as the ones built in to OS X but with the controls and a few choice browsers you can rest easy.
