imageOk. This isn’t totally iPhone news but the mysterious author of the popular Fake Steve Jobs blog has been found out. And it is 46 year old Forbes technology writer, Daniel Lyons.

Here at iPhoneMatters we have loved reading this blog for quite a while now. I speak in the past tense as there is no doubt in my mind that now that we know who it is, the site will lose it’s appeal. For me, at least, part of the appeal was reading it thinking, in the off chance, that it could possibly be Steve Jobs spoofing himself.

Here are some of my favorite lines from Fake Steve Jobs over the last few months:

When confirming a cutback in iPhone production:

But the whole point of iPhone—of all our products, really—is to offer a product that not everyone can have. A product that makes you different, and unique, and special. A product that makes you smarter and, well, better than other people. Can’t do that if everyone has one, right?

When explaining how they got their hands on the Google phone:

Finally our man managed to get a phone out of the building. Little hint on how he did it: Christopher Walken in “Pulp Fiction.” Nuff said. And this is not a small phone.

On Paris Hilton getting an iPhone:

If so, someone’s head is gonna friggin roll. I told them not to let this happen. I mean it was a direct order and it went out on email to everyone. Damn.

Hey, Daniel Lyons, thanks! This was brilliant.
