Have Your Dropped Your iPhone Yet
It hurts me to see technology destroyed, especially expensive technology. It even hurts me to see a tiny little scratch where normally someone would not notice.
The iPhone is one of my most prized possessions so fortunately, I have not manage to have it slip out of my hands. However, being too careful can be just as dangerous as being butterfingers himself.
Recently, a friend of mine dropped his iPhone - not once - but twice, and he ended up having to buy another one for the unsubsidized price of $499.
Of course, those two times were accidents, but some people love to destroy technology. If you have a strong stomach, take a look here to see some pictures of an iPhone that was not so much an accident.
What we at iPhone Matters would like to know is have you ever accidently/purposefully dropped, threw, kicked, dunked, sank, smashed, etc. your iPhone? I hope not, but if you have a story to tell, we’d love to hear about it!

Yeah, I dropped mine once, while entering Gillette Stadium for a pre-season Patriots NFL game. I had to empty my pockets to pass through security, and it slipped right out, slide down the front of my jeans, bounced off my shoe and landed square on its back… all in super-slow motion. Fortunately, there was no damage, just a few tiny scratch marks on the back, which look like stars against a dark sky.

I’ve dropped my first generation Iphone a couple of times. The recessed earplug saved it from hitting the ground on both occasions. You won’t hear me complain about this great “feature”.

I’ve dropped my first gen a half dozen times. Once in a grocery store with concrete flooring, no scratches but there is now a tiny dent on one corner. I’ve also dropped it in a puddle. It was raining and it slipped out of my hand when I was getting in the car. I’m one of those super careful people so my heart sank each time I dropped it. Nevertheless, I’m happy to report that my iPhone looks good and works great.

I dropped mine in the toilet once. I pulled my hand out of my pocket and it came with it. Then dropped right in. I immediately reached in grabbed it out and turned it off. Then put in underneath a lamp to dry it for 24 hours, after that turned it on NO problems whatsoever.
