High Schoolers Ready to Pay for the iPhone

image Researchers from PiperJaffray have conducted a study on high schoolers and their likelihood to pay for the iPhone. The results are very interesting. As part of the 13th bi-annual teen survey, they talked to 500 high school students in 11 different school around the United States.

85% of those surveyed were aware of the iPhone. And 25% of those said they would buy the iPhone at the $500 price tag.

It looks like in the all-important teen demographic, Apple has nothing to worry about when it comes to hype. As for those who said they were willing to pay $500, it may not be as surprising as one may think. No matter where they get the mad flow from (Parents, probably), these kids are used to paying steep prices for things. When someone plunks down $600 PlayStation 3s, and $150 for a pair of Diesel jeans, why wouldn’t they pay extra for an innovative device sure to impress their friends?
