How Is Firmware 3.1 Working On Your iPhone/iPod Touch/
Yesterday Apple released a Software update for the iPhone and iPod Touch bring its Firmware up to 3.1.1 and while we’ve yet to see any bugs or problems (besides our tethering hack being disabled) pop up. If you’ve seen any oddities or bugs crop up, let us know in the comments.

It’s working fabulous for me!
Now my old deleted mail really is deleted permantly. I’ve found no glitches yet. It is interesting, however, that when I use two-thumb typing, the clicks become very soft and muffled. But when I use one-finger to type it resumes the normal clicking sounds…wonder if anyone else notices this?
So far, so good!

I’m pissed that I lost my tethering.

I upgraded to both OS 3.1 and iTunes 9. The upgrade went smooth but when I tried to load some new apps, I got the blue screen of death(Windows Home Premium 64-bit). So I restarted the PC and now get an error when I attempt to update my iPhone that AppleiPhoneHelper has to close due to an error (I do get some error information which I sent to Apple).
So now I cannot update my iPhone from iTunes on my PC.
After the last upgrade fiasco you would think I would wait for months to try an upgrade. -
iPhone went in to recovery mode when I tried to install the update. I had to restore my backup once the upgrade was installed. The restore took a long time, but it seems to be working without any more issues now.

Everything went perfectly smooth for me on both fronts!!!

Is it just me or does scrolling a list, say of postcasts, music, etc seem a lot less fluid after the update?

It seemed to go well but now my calendar is all screwed up when I try and use ‘List View’.... What gives?

The GPS is fouled up now. In order to make a work for a couple of hours, you need to turn off 3GS and reset location service. This fix will only last for a couple of hours and then you have to do it all over again. I’ve had the phone replaced at the local Apple store and the problem occurs on the new hardware. The problem is obviously in the new operating system.

Podcast playlists are totally broken on my ipod touch with 3.1.1. Won’t update playcount or refresh playlists after the upgrade.

My BRAND NEW from apple 2g iPod touch, freezes ALOT running 3.1.
When the firmware is working right it’s fine… Apple doesn’t know what the problem is. I miss 3.0
