I Like The iPhone Price Cut Even Though I Have One

image Yesterday’s Apple event brought forth new iPod Nanos, iPod Shuffles, iPod Touches and iPod Classics. Amongst the changes was a major one that our boss Hadley could sum up so eloquently “I can think of no other word than bitch-slap.” We, loyal consumers have been tossed aside by Apple but even though memories of barely having enough to pay $654.50 for my 8GB iPhone and now seeing I could’ve obtained it easier by waiting, I hate to say it but: thank you Apple!

I know you must be Googling my address right now (only 99.9% sure it’s not floating around..) but my reasoning is completely different that yours. Whether the iPhone was $654.50 or even 50 cents or even had a discount 2 weeks from then I still would’ve bought an iPhone right then and there on launch day. Not because of the free t-shirts and gift cards but because I am dependent on the iPhone.

Sad to say but it’s true, my old LG, although faithful could only maintain a 30 minute charge when used to talk and Standby time gone down to about 2 hours and I was tempted with all the features the iPhone offered. Anyways, we can wine about this, we can ready our pitchforks and sharpen our tridents (maces are so overrated) but when it comes down to it we had no idea this was going to happen. Think about it, would you have waited knowing a discount would happen in roughly 70 days? Whose to say this won’t lead to an update in storage capacity, the 4GB model is going the way of the Dodo.

Regardless, if Apple can dominate the cell market through offering the iPhone to everyone at a cheap price, then all the power to you Steve, maybe people will stop bugging the crap out of me to touch the iPhone.
