iPhone 3GS Used To Tape TV Segment On The iPhone 3GS
June 19th marked the release of Apple’s 3rd generation iPhone, the iPhone 3GS which not only brought a speedier hardware package but an improved 3.2 Megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. To show how well the 3GS’ camera is, a CBS reporter was tasked with using it in the field which made its way to TVs everywhere.
Lining up at 5:30 AM that Friday, Gio Benitez documented the huge buzz surrounding Apple’s newest iPhone and to pick up the newest device himself. After enduring a few hour wait, Gio decided to use the iPhone instead of a traditional camcorder for his segment. The video turned out so well, it was aired on WFOR’s 5 p.m. evening newscast.
The quality of the video and sound was impressive on the phone, but I figured it would be less appealing when put on TV. Again, I was wrong. I plugged the phone into my computer and iPhoto popped up with all of my videos. I “dragged and dropped” the videos into Final Cut Pro and I was ready to edit. No advanced techniques needed to extract the video.
