iPhone: A Potential Blogging Machine?
Having just read Gregory’s opinion on Apple bringing iWeb to the iPhone, I have to say I completely agree with him. This is a big opportunity for Apple to reach out to the blogging community at large. Think of how many people around the world use their mobile phones, then think about how many people around the world blog… Enter the iPhone and iWeb for the iPhone… With the simplicity of the iPhone, it could mean an explosion in the blogging arena. The iPhone screams, “Blog on me!”
Apple… take notes. Just as the mobile phone industry needed an infusion of ease-of-use to eradicate awkward user interfaces in the form of iPhone, so too can we bloggers benefit from an easy-to-use blogging tool right on our iPhone. This is another chance to push the halo effect that’s brought you so much attention from the media. It’s time to step up to the plate and hit another homerun? Thoughts?

Totally agree ! Apple from my point of view already started going that way with the integration of the .Mac Web Gallery on the iPhone… Being able to take a picture and send it right away to my online Gallery is a first step…
There is a lot more that can be achieved in that space !Steve

Nope, nope, nope - I’ve tried it, and the main thing that simply doesn’t work for blogging on the iPhone is its inability to copy and paste URL’s. It’s all very well for me to blather about things that I’ve observed and trends that I see coming to fruition, but without links to back up my assertions, it’s no better than using a typewriter!

Maybe you’ll getting too excited. “The beat goes on” might imply a special Sonny & Cher iPod edition (yech...).

I tried editing a blog post via Moveable Type 3.2 and couldn’t get the text field to scroll down beyond what was visible. I think this is also the responsibility of the blog app developers.
