iPhone and Screen Smudges
How has your iPhone screen been treating you? Despite the concerns some people have with the multitouch in the lower part of their screen, I have had no issues with mine. But one thing that I do notice is the screen smudges. It’s not a surprise to me. It’s the summer and in Boston, where I live, it is hot and sticky. So every time I get a phone call and I put that gorgeous screen up to my sweaty face, I have to wipe the bad boy down with my shirt. Add my fingerprints and you get another layer of film that I need to wipe off. (I disgust myself).
Hey, that’s what you get when you have a screen that covers the entire side of the phone right? Check out this video which takes the iPhone commercial we all know and love and adds a cool effect.

I think they went a little extreme with the fingerprints. I can use mine for a whole day without cleaning the screen. Of course there are fingerprints all over it, but the iPhone screen does a great job of displaying video and everything else without showing these prints. The only time I can really see mine is when it is in sleep and the screen is all black.
The only thing I have a problem with is the screen after talking on the phone, especially on hot 95° or 100° days in CA. Those times it is very noticeable and I clean the screen right away. Other than that, unless you have crap all over your hands, the screen deals with fingerprints pretty well and can last the whole day without needing wiped off.

This is completely exaggerated.
It’s just iPhone FUD—don;t give them any more publicity…

clearly made by someone who doesn’t have one. like Chris (#1) said above, i only notice smudges when i put it to sleep, or after i put it up against my sweaty cheek on a hot day. otherwise, it’s not even noticeable.
