iPhone Does Have a SIM Card Slot

For weeks we were lead to believe that the iPhone didn’t have a SIM card slot, as it would only be running on AT&T’s network and therefore wouldn’t require a removable SIM slot.

But today Think Secret has posted some pictures, albeit unconfirmed at this stage, that with the use of a simple paper clip the SIM slot can be removed and a new SIM card can be installed. I suppose we’ll hear more stories of this as the iPhone is released into the public later on this evening. Bare in mind though folks, this is merely a rumour at this stage.

You’ll also notice in the image above that there is a new iPhone dock which will allow, most probably, the charging of the official Apple Bluetooth Headset.

  1. No, this isn’t just a rumor. The pictures of the top of the iPhone on Apple.com show the SIM card slot, and at least one review (Pogue I think?) mentioned it as being the SIM card slot. Point is, this has been discussed. I think Pogue even discusses the iPhone’s ability to handle various SIM cards (only AT&T will work, obviously).
