Looks like we’ll be getting something concrete on March 6th after all- Wall Street analyst Shaw Wu reports that Apple plans to address one of the iPhone’s most glaring weaknesses by adding enterprise e-mail support for platforms from Microsoft and IBM. Mr. Wu writes, “What isn’t as clear to us is how Apple will accomplish this, whether this is from internal development (most likely), third-parties including Microsoft (next likely) with its ActiveSync technology, or Research in Motion Blackberry Connect (possible but less likely), or a combination of two or more.”

We say, it’s about time! Apple has been making several important business-centric modifications to the iPhone, most likely in hopes or attaining their loft goal of 10 million devices. Though it’s nice to see Apple stepping up, we doubt their initial system will be nearly as robust as that of enterprise veterans like RIM’s BlackBerry phones.
