Whilst all the hype of the iPhone is taking over the mobile phone scene at the minute with it’s sexy Multi-touch technology and other sensory bits-and-bobs, one of those sensors isn’t a first for a mobile phone - the motion-sensor.

As it turns out, and as many mobile phone fanatic’s will know, there have been a variety of motion-sensing mobile phones released since 2005 although none have really appealed to the average Joe. Why, you ask? Well, take a look at the Nokia 5500 Sports Phone below which was introduced last year. Whilst it’s not the most attractive phone on the market, it is the most attractive motion-sensing phone available, bar the iPhone, which says a lot for the other ugly ducklings of the pack.

Cnet compiled have compiled a list of other phones that have motion-sensing technology and you’ll be surprised to see that the manufacturers actually gave the go-a head to release such ugly looking things. I am in shock!

Check the list.
