iPhone Oleophobic Screens Wearing Off?

One of the iPhone 3GS’ selling points is its Oleophobic coated screen which resists fingerprints and other smudges. However, one user is reporting that the coating on his iPhone is wearing off prematurely.

What’s odd about this problem is that a hole has opened from where apfeltalk.de forum goer, Samsas Traum has his finger the most (from playing a game called Flick Fishing) which is very noticeable. It is unknown what exactly caused the problem and some are saying its heat related but the biggest suspect is wear and tear on an improperly coated screen.
