imageGoogle’s recent introduction of IMAP support for Gmail thrilled users who desired the feature and while it’s rolling out to all accounts soon, there is no automatic way to set this up on your iPhone.

First, you’ll have to enable IMAP in your Gmail account (if your account supports it) by following these instructions posted here.

Once you have IMAP enabled in your Gmail account, set up a new Mail account on your iPhone but select other. Follow these instructions posted here and you’ll be good to go, IMAP Gmail will be enabled on your iPhone.

  2. Got it early yesterday. After a bug or two (it would automatically mail recipients drafts of my yet unfinished email), it worked like a charm on my iPhone
