iPhone Tip of the Week

If you are like me, you have pages and pages of apps that, after a while, can get a little tiresome scrolling through the pages to get to one. However, I have found a way to atleast get back to your first page rather quickly.

I am sure I am not the only one who has noticed this after the 2.2 update, but I was on my seventh page of apps one day and accidently pressed the Home button and was instantly moved to the first page of my apps!

Although there is no easier way to get to the last page of your apps (as far as I know), you can easily get to the first page with a tap of your Home button. I keep my most used apps on the first and second page so this is perfect.

Have a happy Thanksgiving! smile

  1. I know isn’t beautiful. Now they just need an app that will move your most used app to the first couple pages if elected to.

  2. I think the new home button function was mentioned in the patch notes for 2.2.
To move thru your screens quickly you can also tap left and right of the little points at the bottom indicating on which screen you currently are. For me this is faster than the hand sliding (looks less cool though).

  4. The App would ask you what your prefs. were and it would act as a “desktop orgainizer”. I love my IPhone and this would make it perfect, I have almost filled 8 pages of apps. I only have that ninth page and use it to store all the apps I never use. Also does anyone know if when in Itunes, if you uncheck an app on the applications list, so it will not put the app on the phone during sync. Does it keep all the data you have stored in the app itself? Or does it just store the program so that you can put it back on your phone at a later date. Thanks. WillC
