Now that WiFi is making its way to planes, you might want to know how to use WiFi while the phone is in Airplane Mode.

A feature in V2.0 is the ability to use WiFi while in Airplane Mode. To do this, simply enable Airplane Mode and then switch on WiFi. Simple! The orange airplane icon will stay in the status bar and WiFi will be enabled.

I’m sure this tip is useful for other cases as well such as no signal wherever you may be.

Enjoy! smile

  1. Should work great for using an iPhone with a non-approved speaker system. I use my iPhone on an old JBL speaker dock and have to put in airplane mode to keep from hearing the annoying intermittent buzz from the phone. This should let me use iPhone apps like Pandora now!

  2. I still have no chance to use iPhone in airplane, sounds interesting!
