iPhone Unlocked By NJ Teen…
This just in… FOXNews.com is reporting that a N.J. teenager has managed, through hardware hacking, to unlock the iPhone, making it usable on networks other than AT&T’s. The full scoop, you’ll find by crusin’ over here...
“A 17-year-old hacker has broken the lock that ties Apple’s iPhone to AT&T’s wireless network, freeing the most hyped cell phone ever for use on the networks of other carriers, including overseas ones.”
From reading this… one has to wonder… How long will it be, before Apple HAS to unlock the iPhone. Do you think it’s worth it to hack the iPhone so that it will run on other providers? Would you like to see the iPhone unlocked to run on other providers? What do you think?

That must be the dumbest question I’ve heard in a while. Apple is contractually bound by ATT to lock the phone for at least 5 years. Why would they lock it in the first place as doing so would only limit sales? In fact, there might even be a clause in the contract that requires Apples to do whatever it can to rollback or patch any unlock hacks.
Of course, Apple is secretly happy about this development as it will likely spur sales. (And by the way, you need to catch up on the news. A software-only unlock was released.)
