iPhone Update 1.1.3 In The Near Future?

I was reading some news, and stubled upon something exciting…Somewhat exciting for those of you who have hacked your iPhone. Not to worry though! As always, there is a cure.

According to this article, a firmware upgrade may be happening in the near future for your iPhone.

iPhone 1.1.3 is set to arrive as early as this weekend, and will pack some commonly requested features such as voice memo recording and disk mode.

“The disk feature behaves like the equivalent for iPod and will still block users from simply dragging and dropping content to load the phone with playable music, CNET says. Enabling disk mode should still allow knowledgeable users to browse the content on the phone, though this is not expected to be of any use to the hacking community, which has already gained access to the phone’s software.”

Exciting news, eh? Personally, I find the disk mode somewhat useless. Perhaps if this is true, I may find a great use for it. We’ll see. Be on the lookout!

Apple released iPhone/iPod Touch Firmware 1.1.2 on November 8th, and did not make it available via iTunes update until that Monday (Nevember 12th), so maybe Monday (December 10th) possibly? Only time will tell…

  1. I don’t know if I’m unhappy or happy that there will be an update soon.
    The update will contain nothing really.
    Is the iPhone a smart phone ? To be 100% honest : it is not. I’m so disappointed and I can can not recommend any one buying the iPhone.
    The iPhone is missing a lot of stuff, and even tons of people has told Apple what they are missing, nothing is happening.

    Another reason not to buy it. Yes hear this, There is a new iPhone on the way.

    Yes you heard right. AT&T has announced that it will be on the shelves in mid 2008

  3. Haha, Everyone by now has awoken to the information present that says the next apple iphone firmware update will arrive in early 2008, hopefully in February just wait patiently for the goodies, ok kids!

  4. ok i got my iphone been looking at it in detail
    very unhappy no video call s not mms bluetooth just for headset or hands freen no file transfer with other phones
    cannot get ringtones on itunes uk
    most of the uk mobile phones have had this for a long time
    i think the iphone wood be better for usa market as there way behind in mob tec
    what a shame wood have make a good phone with all this added

  5. While the US may be a bit behind on cell technology we have all of the features you listed above on other phones. It just so happens that Apple did not include them with the iPhone. You knew the features with the phone before you bought it…so why complain about it now.
