iPhones 3GS Encryption Easily Hackable

In a troubling report by security researcher, Jonathan Zdziarski has concluded that encryption methods used by Apple on the iPhone 3GS is easily hackable.

The report comes to many as a shock after Apple has highly touted the iPhone as enterprise friendly due to its focus on security. Data was stripped from an iPhone 3GS is under two minutes with the full decryption process taking up to 45 minutes Zdiarski said.

“I don’t think any of us [developers] have ever seen encryption implemented so poorly before, which is why it’s hard to describe why it’s such a big threat to security,”
