Is your 3G iPhone developing cracks?

Nobody really expected the 3G iPhone’s plastic case to be more durable than the original aluminum backplate, but nobody expected to discover hairline cracks on their new iPhones either. iPhone forums are starting to overflow with reports of cracked cases, on both the white and black models. The white model seems more susceptible to these cracks, although this is probably just a result of cracks being more visible on a white surface. Fortunately, the issue hasn’t been causing any functional problems, although we’re sure Apple will issue a recall if it does.

  1. I would take a crack, for the sync to work properly, if the calendar and contacts sync doesn’t work through some fashion whether it is Mobile Me, Exchange, or iTunes I am going to put a lot of cracks in iPhone

  4. Look, the iPhone 3G is made out of the same material as the MacBooks, my dad owns a MacBook and damn, it’s cracked all over. The plastic is cheap, and Cellphones should be metal, durable for sitting and that, I wouldn’t be surpirsed if mine started cracking up as I speak.

  5. Apples cracks appear - hundreds of white 3g iPhone owners are suffering from hairline cracks on shiny back cover of beloved iPhone. Thousands from Australia, Uk & US posted their concerns on Apples discussion board earlier today, but Apple it appears have removed all links - ERROR you do not have permission to view the requested forum or category.
