iTunes 8.2 Breaks Jailbreaking, Palm Pre Sync?

image Apple just released iTunes 8.2 to the masses and as expected, Jailbreaking is currently disabled with the new update but this new version of iTunes could break the Palm Pre’s ability to sync with your media library.

The iPhone Dev Team issued a warning to eager updaters:

This update is one of those that incidentally breaks QuickPwn and PwnageTool.  It doesn’t seem like an anti-jailbreak.  But nonetheless, it will break your ability to re-run QuickPwn or PwnageTool’s dfu-entry.

While a fix is planned, it won’t be made available until Apple publicly releases Firmware 3.0 to avoid any last minutes hassles from iTunes before WWDC. Through the update of low-level USB protocols in iTunes, Jailbreaking and possibly Palm Pre compatibility may break preventing users from syncing their media housed in iTunes on to the device. The later is unconfirmed at this moment.

  1. I love Dave Matthews Band. In fact I’ve heard a lot of people are buying this new album. Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King is the new album by the Dave Matthews Band. The title, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King make it sound as if the band were indulging in something stronger than the mentioned amber tonic, but the album will still likely move a lot of units. The record is the first release from the band since their saxophonist, LeRoi Moore, passed away as the result of trauma from an ATV accident. They still won’t need a cash advance, as DMB is one of the biggest selling bands and concert draws in North America, and a lot of people will be getting out the credit cards to get Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.
