Land Rover LRX Concept Car and the Coolest iPhone Car Integration Ever

Gizmodo covered this last week, but I just couldn’t resist publishing these amazing photos here as well.

Pictures of the Land Rover LRX concept car shows heavy integration with the iPhone. So much so that the iPhone docks into the car and even becomes the push button start of the vehicle.

I will believe it when I see it but this is got to be the sexiest iPhone integration concept I have ever seen.

  1. This is the most horrible idea I’ve ever heard. And yes, I am an iPhone user. Keep my freaking auto separate from the iPhone. Sure integrate it but not to this level. The iPhone even fits into a depression exactly sized to the iPhone - so what then, redo your entire console if another size iPhone comes out? Or freeze the size of the iPhone because so many autos are specifically sized to a particular iPhone model? This is so stupid on so many levels.

  2. Its only a concept car calm down. Most of the detail work from concept vehicles does not make it into production anyway so it doesn’t really matter. Current Land Rovers have bluetooth connections that work great with iPhones and AUX inputs/connectivity modules that can link up the sound system to an iPod or iPhone. I wouldn’t be surprised if a higher level of integration comes out with the next gen Rovers.
