Mobile World panel can’t figure out why people like the iPhone so much
A panel of reputed mobile telecommunications experts at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain came to the conclusion that the most significant recent advance in mobile communications has not come from a service provider (surprise!) but from a certain Cupertino-based computer company. Any guesses? Apple, you say? That’s right!
Anup Murarka, a member of the panel and director of technical marketing for Adobe, mentioned a study that reported 77% of iPhone users to be satisfied with their purchase. Dig a little deeper, though, and you’ll find that the people surveyed attributed their satisfaction not with their service provider- AT&T- but with the manufacturer of their phones- Apple. Panelists also agreed that the current competition (if you can call it that) needs to seriously spur their user interface teams into action if they want to offer an experience that equals that of the iPhone. Hopefully, that will lead to more and more innovative cell phones in the near future: something we can all benefit from.
