My First iPhone Bill: 22 Pages
Wow. Isn’t this supposed to be the digital age? Where getting a bank statement on paper is a privilege not a right? I got my first bill from AT&T in a nice big envelope yesterday and obviously AT&T doesn’t care about the environment or about the wasted cost of mailing me 22 pages.
At first I freaked. Did I do something really weird, like have my phone on autodial and unknowingly call the same number over and over again? Was my bill going to be for $6000.
But I was calmed, and then soon aghast as I read through all the pages. There were pages after page listed anytime my iPhone had hit the edge network, with a $0.00 next to it (because data is unlimited on the iPhone). I have no idea whether this absurdly long statement is due to legacy systems that AT&T has in place, when, back in the day, there was a charge for each data access. Or is there some sort of legal requirement that I know every time I hit the Edge network. Sure, I used the iPhone a lot (and still do) when I first got it, but I don’t think I was out of the ordinary as a user.
Anyone else get their bills yet? How many pages are you at?

That bill is small compared to some. One girl got a 300 page bill delivered in a box. I would recommend switching to online bills. You can sign up by going to your account on ATT.com

My bill was a normal length. I wonder why? I use the phone ALL of the time for EVERYTHING I do!

It’s called paperless billing, you should try it sometime
The first thing I did when I logged into my AT&T account (via myAccount) was subscribe to online billing. I recieved a PDF (yes it was almost 1MB and 60+ pages), but at least it wasn’t sent to me via a massive package. I hate paper, period. I’m very mobile and prefer to have an electronic copy of all my statements/bills. If anything, when I get a paper statement, I always end up scanning it to store a digital copy.
