My iPhone Story

Posted November 25, 2007 1:23 AM by Don Palmigiano

You are probably familiar with those iPhone commercials depicting people using their phones in real situations that would occur in life. Well I have my own.

I regularly attend a computer class at my local college. One day during class a discussion arose about the sharp rise in price of technology stocks. My teacher used Google as an example and asked if anyone knew what the price per share currently was and what it had been 1 year ago. Having had Google as one of the stocks I was monitoring, I quickly took out my iPhone and checked the price. The class was amazed at the speed with which I was able to gather this information. The professor soon used this information to calculate the amount of money one would have gained in investing a certain amount about a year ago. I was glad that our class was able to learn using valid information, and not a mere estimate. The professor then thanked me after class.

Thank you iPhone! You may have just gotten me an A.

Tell us your story!

  2. Many people lives are subject to these “corny, but true” type of moments.

When traveling in my RV, I often use Google Maps to check for nearby attractions and then cellphone or visit a web site to check for open hours, facilities and rates.  The ability to have my wife “shopping” while driving for camping sites, motels, restaurants and gas stations alone, is worth the price.

  4. I work in a luxury retail store in Kansas City, and when people ask for directions or nearby attractions, I’m more than happy to whip out my iPhone and point them in the right direction. It adds a little bit of personal service, and of course, I get to assist our customers…

  5. The fact that the teacher is doing the age-old, “if you had bought in at this price you would have made x amount of dollars” story is more corny than your bit on the stock price thing.

what a waste of class time. What grade are you in? I hope to god this isn’t a college class.

  6. The smooth rounded surfaces also make the iPhone a great suppository, and the pinching gesture is second nature to me. I typed this whole message with my small intestine, with my trek I couldn’t even figure out where the colon was.

  7. I too have a similar school story,
while i was in porn class 101, the teacher asked the class who can tell me the current price of 8 inch rubber dildos, well i just whipped out my iphone and did a google search of dildos and wala, i was the talk of the class, the teacher was amazed at the speed of my dildo search, and the girl next to me got so hot that she let me touch her breasts if i let her touch my iphone, thanks iphone, you may have just gotten me laid.
