O’Reilly releases world’s first book on iPhone hacking
In a move that effectively makes modding your iPhone about as mainstream as it gets, the tech writers at O’Reilly have decided to capitalize on the world’s most infamous icon- Installer.app with a book entitled “iPhone Open Application Development”. O’Reilly, a company best known for writing complex and wholly un-exciting books targeted towards working professionals, is the first to target the iPhone’s underground hacking community. Jonathan Zdziarski, the book’s author, was one of the first to cover iPhone hacks professionally, so this book is a logical extension. Too bad it’ll probably be outdated in June.

the book covers a lot of the sdk too - not sure why you think it will be out dated by june. there are maybe a dozen new objects that he doesn’t cover, and he covers some things that are restricted by the sdk (although there are how-to’s out there to re-enable these features). most of the book works with both sdks.
