I am not venting about how awful the iPhone is, we already have people designated to that wretched task elsewhere on the Internet. This time it’s more of an observation of what is wrong with my iPhone after the 1.0.1 update and may be something that affects a very small percentage of users.

Since making the update to 1.0.1 I have noticed one distinct problem, EDGE goes out every now and then. It’s not enough to warrant me to call Apple up and demand a replacement at my doorsteps. I noticed this only happens every now and then, I’ll either get a very weak signal or it will go out for a few seconds, the longest being 30 seconds.

I’ve also found that when using Safari, EDGE status will be reported as on with full or near full signals but the iPhone will report that the current web page cannot be loaded due to it not being able to connect to the Internet.

I have found a temporary fix to this problem, if I enable Airplane mode then disable it after 15 seconds EDGE works perfectly.
