REVIEW: The Belkin Sport Armband for the iPhone

Before I get into the meat of this review let me ask you a few questions:
Question 1: Do you like to work out or be active to the point where you do not want to put something in your pocket or carry a bag?
Question 2: Is your iPhone your primary device for music listening on the go?
Question 3: Do you like to flaunt the fact that you have an iPhone?
If you answered “yes” to all of these questions, then you should consider the Belkin Sport Armband for the iPhone. This product addresses one of the trickiest problems when dealing with mobile devices: how do you work out with it? You need something that can create a safe environment for your iPhone without it creating bulk or getting in the way. You also need something that is practical when it comes to durability and accessibility.
This product addresses all of these issues. Made to wear wrapped around your arm between your elbow and shoulder, this armband is used in the perfect spot: easy to access and far enough to not get into your way as you sweat through your neighborhood. It’s a good thing that the iPhone is so slim – this product would not be as effective if it housed a blocky Treo or Sidekick. Made of a flexible neoprene material, it hugs your arm securely and comfortably. It also sports a nifty pocket for your keys and a reflective frame to glimmer against headlights.
I tried this product out both on a bike and while running and once I started going, I barely felt it on my arm. It is so lightweight and out of the way. Personally, though, I have a hard time with the idea of exercising with my iPhone. I typically do not work out with phone access and for music I prefer the much smaller iPod Shuffle on my waistband than a huge (by comparison) iPhone on my arm. But if the iPhone is your primary music device of choice, this product is the answer.df
The Belkin Sport Armband retails for $29.99 and can be purchased here.
