“Sent from iPhone”?
There has been some chatter around the blogosphere recently about what it says about a person that adds a “Sent from iPhone” signature at the end of every email.
Some argue that is simply a way to show off that you are up with the latest technology. Others defend the action with the explanation that it tips off the recipient as to why the message is curt, short, or riddled with mistakes (iPhone’s predictive typing feature is good, but not perfect).
The “Sent from iPhone” signature is cool but there are other options. How about:
- “Sent via the full internet...on my phone”
- “This message had my fingers all over it”
- “Sent from my personal computer in my pocket”
- “Sent while listening to _______ on my iPhone”
- “iPhone. Yeah, I’ve got one.
- “Proud iPhone owner since 06.29.07”
I can only imagine what Google will do as a default signature for the GPhone. Maybe a message that links directly to products based on the contents of the message? Like “Sent from GPhone (which recommends the new Dyson Vaccuum Cleaner”
I am curious to whether people are using the default, “Sent from iPhone” signature or using something else. Fill in your iPhone signature below.

I think it just means they didn’t bother to change the default signature, as I didn’t for several days until I noticed the annoying tagline. I changed it immediately.

"Sent by a smug, virus-free Mac-user from his iPhone.”

"MY iPhone cost more than YOUR iPhone.”

I kept my signature. When I get messages from friend’s blackberrys it has some kind of signature at the endof the message.. Why look into everything?

The whole point of Sent from iPhone is to let people know that you are not at an actual computer. Sometimes I will send a few emails to someone within a short time period, basically like a normal conversation over email. If they see I am on my iPhone they will understand I am not at my desk and might not have access to something they might be looking for. It is also there to let people know you have a cool phone.
“Sent from iPhone B*tch!”

... I’m not a fan of signatures but feel the need to provide some context as to why my email might be a little more perfunctory with less than perfect typing, so I put this in my signature block ...
