Getting out of a contract

So, I’m a Verizon customer, actually I’ve been one for a long time. If it wasn’t for the iPhone I wouldn’t be switching either. The problem is I recently switched to a Razr thinking it was god’s gift to phones....until the iPhone came along. So, is there any way whatsoever to avoid paying an early-termination fee?

From my experience, no. You still need to pay the $75 termination fee regardless. The only time I have ever seen someone get out of aan early termination fee was when a buddy of mine moved to a location that didn’t have service. But he had to give proof he was moving.

I read somewhere of a not very honest way to get out of a verizon contract. Yes, it involves you saying that you are moving to say, Cambodia, or another place where there is no service. All they require is some kind of company letterhead or a utility bill of some sort faxed over to them within 30 days after your service is disconnected. Doesn’t sound too difficult to “do”.

there are various websites out there to trade your contract to someone else and they just pick up where you left off, and u can avoid the fee that way.

i also heard about this method working a few months ago. verizon changed some of its billing policies, and some thing little like text messages went from 10 up to 15 cents a message. if you call and complain they will let you off after a fight. this was months ago, and by now if u havent complained i dont know if it would work, but look for other simliar price changing situations.
