Why not take the iPhone a step further and add IR remote capability to it? It would be awesome to be able to control your MacBook, or your TV, VCR, Disc player, etc with the iPhone.. and replace yet another device, the horrible world of mostly useless Universal Remotes…
The only remote I’ve bought that was worth a d@mn was a horribly expensive Harmony remote that cost $250! It took care of all my mother’s problems controlling all her gear, but programming it, even for me, was really tedious and a lot of trial and error to get it to work properly.. Apple should really think about taking over that market as well.. They would instantly flatten the competition with such a device.. simpler to use, easy large color onscreen instructions and prompts.. and updates itself to new devices automatically over your WiFi net connection.. how cool is that!
