If I leave my iphone on and it goes to sleep if I do not activate it within say five minutes it turns off completely.  The only way to power it back on is to plug it into a power source and do an emergency reboot.  If I leave it on constantly, not allowing the passcode timer to ever go on.  It is frustrating.  It appears that for some reason my iphone goes from active to off with no sleep in the middle.  Help!

cant say why that would be happening, i would point you towards the apple support site, it takes you through all of the “R’s” reboot, reset, restore etc. one of thoes will more than likely fix your issue. after that.... genius bar?
