Solar power for your iPhone
What’s something people don’t like about the iPhone? The battery life. Sure it has gotten better with firmware updates and S. Jobs warned us that 3G was power hungry way back in 2006 but an iPhone with a dead battery is almost worthless. You can still look cool rocking the thing at the Starbucks but that is about it.
But what if you had a case that could charge the iPhone via the power of the sun. That’s right, a phone charger that could tap solar radioactivity and transfer this energy to your iPhone. You’d be green and good to go. Unless you live in Alaska or somewhere else where night lasts six months or something.
IF that’s what you’re looking for Brando.com.hk has you covered. For $48 you get a case with a solar panel and an internal rechargable battery. The case charges the battery, the battery charges your iPhone in under three hours. If you drain the built in battery your iPhone will still charge from the solar panel but you’ll be waiting 12 hours according to the web… more...
Belkin Leather Hard Case review
I hate shoving my iPhone in a case. The case takes up valuable pocket room and covers up the cool looks of the iPhone. So I went case free for the fist six months of of my iPhone enabled life. What happened next was, if you’re a clumsy as me, inevitable. On a rainy, gray day the iPhone slipped from my hand, rotated through the air in seeming slow motion and smacked the ground perfectly flat on the screen side. The screen was cracked badly (though the iPhone still worked) and so it was time to a trip to the Apple Store. They replaced the phone for free (I was so embarrassed I cajoled my wife into talking to them).
One accidental drop was enough so I ponied up for a case. The first case taught me that I hated cases with belt clips because a) I don’t wear belts and b) because people who walk around with a phone clipped to their belt should given a valium and sent back to 1996. So when the old case didn’t work with the iPhone 3G (it blocked the sensor that would turn the screen on while making a phone… more...
Marware’s New iPhone 3G Case
A lot of people are going to create cases for the upcoming iPhone 3G. I think a lot of people are going to also be buying more cases for their iPhone 3Gs. Why? Well, the iPhone 3G is going to sport a glossy back that just screams “scratch me!”
I never have been a big fan of cases, but with the upcoming iPhone 3G, I will definitely consider it. One cases I will consider is a style I love in cases. The “folio” style case design has always been an interest to me.
Marware made a similar cases for the iPhone 2G so it come as no surprise that they have created the C.E.O. Premiere for iPhone 3G.
Marware’s new C.E.O. Premiere for iPhone 3G is a leather sunglass-style holster for the iPhone 3G, using a microsuede interior and a non-detachable belt clip to hold the device at waist level.
C.E.O. Premiere is designed to provide access to the headphone port while inside, so that you can listen to music or take calls with the iPhone 3G’s headset while you’re walking.… more...
More WildCharge Details
The folks over at iPhonebuzz got their hands on the WildCharge adapters for both the iPod touch and the iPhone. The adapters, which are built into a gel case, are priced at a cost of $34.95. The case is apparently well made, with TPE instead of silicon. The cases can be made in many different colors, some of which do not add to the aesthetics of the iPhone.
In order to use the WildCharge pad, the iPhone must be in the skin. I hate skins. I am slightly disappointed. Skins usually do more harm than good. They tend to trap dust, which in turn scratches the iPhone. I keep my phone caseless and I have very few scratches as a consequence. I must say my interest in the technology has weakened some. Though I do not see how they could have integrated it in any other form.
What do you think? Do you like gel cases? Will you be adopting this technology?

Review: NLU Bodygaurdz
NLU Bodygaurdz
Price: $24.99 for two complete Bodygaurdz (front and back protectors)
URL: http://www.nluinc.com/
Rating: 5 stars
When it comes to protecting your iPhone there aren’t many options available that will offer full protection. Of the few that you can buy now, NLU’s Bodygaurdz for iPhone is perhaps the best thing you can buy right now and puts competitors such as the Invisible Shield to shame.
Bodygaurdz come in 2 packs, each pack contains a front and back film. Basically you’re getting 2 products in one, a bargain for any avid iPhone shopper even when compared to low end static cling films. But that’s not the meat of this product, more like the tip of the iceberg. What makes the Bodygaurdz so great is they are so damn durable!
Before you start gloating about how damage resistant your iPhone is, you’ll have to get through applying them first. It requires little effort but some level of patience and time. The Bodyguardz are applied the same way the Invisible Shield is applied in that you have to… more...
Marware’s Sportsuit Convertible For iPhone Now Available
Marware, popular iPod case maker, has adapted its Sportsuit convertible to the iPhone and even iPod Touch but has left nothing out from its original design dating back to the iPod.
The Sportsuit Convertible is made of a soft Neoprene protector while being covered with a vinyl film that shields the Touch Screen yet compromising no functionality.
Marware’s Sportsuit convertible comes with a clip, arm band and pocket to hold keys or money. These are interchangeable due to the unique multidapt system that allows you to swap between a belt clip or arm band although with some effort. You can order the Sportsuit Convertible from Marware’s site.
My initial review of the Sportsuit Convertible for the 5th Generation iPod shows its strong and weak points, many of which have been carried over to this new incarnation that supports the iPhone.

I am not a fan of cases that cover my iPhone. I prefer a case in which I can slide my iPhone in when not in use and slide back out when I need it. A friend of mine let me try out his new, appropriately named “Showcase”, for his iPhone and I must say, it isn’t bad.
Thanks to designs that provide good protection without hurting the iPhone’s own attractive surfaces—hence the name Showcase. The Showcase for iPhone is a clear-plastic shell with a thin layer of black-rubber around the edges. To put the case on your iPhone, you flip open a back panel, slide the phone into the base of the case, and then snap the back panel closed. Sounds complicated, but it really isn’t. The iPhone fits perfectly inside the Showcase and the case adds less bulk than I expected.
The case leaves the iPhone’s screen accessible, and also provides openings for the iPhone’s Home button, earpiece, motion and light sensors, camera lens, volume buttons, Ring/Silent switch, headphone jack, Sleep/Wake button, dock-connector port, and speaker/microphone area. The only drawback to this case… more...
REVIEW: The iPhone Elega Pouch from Sena Cases
Are you looking for a protective iPhone case but just aren’t satisfied with the selection out there? You know you need something to protect your beautiful phone but you feel uncomfortable wrapping a rubber sleeve or a plastic case around it. You paid almost $600 on this phone. It needs to be wrapped by something as luxurious as the phone itself. After all, you wouldn’t put a carbra on a Maserati would you?
It’s a good thing there is the Elega Pouch by Sena Cases. Out of all the products that I have reviewed thus far for the iPhone, the Elega Pouch is by far the most luxurious. Extreme attention to detail, the smell of genuine calfskin leather, and the velvet lining are apparent the moment you take it out of it’s velvet bag.
Read this description in a Robin Leach accent: “The Elega Pouch is unlike any other pouch on the market. The Elega Pouch’s snug design provides expert protection especially useful when placed in a purse or briefcase. With a ratchet belt clip, extra padding, velvet lining and a sleek design, the… more...
REVIEW: The Belkin Sport Armband for the iPhone
Before I get into the meat of this review let me ask you a few questions:
Question 1: Do you like to work out or be active to the point where you do not want to put something in your pocket or carry a bag?
Question 2: Is your iPhone your primary device for music listening on the go?
Question 3: Do you like to flaunt the fact that you have an iPhone?
If you answered “yes” to all of these questions, then you should consider the Belkin Sport Armband for the iPhone. This product addresses one of the trickiest problems when dealing with mobile devices: how do you work out with it? You need something that can create a safe environment for your iPhone without it creating bulk or getting in the way. You also need something that is practical when it comes to durability and accessibility.
This product addresses all of these issues. Made to wear wrapped around your arm between your elbow and shoulder, this armband is used in the perfect… more...
REVIEW: The iPhone HipCase by DLO
June 29th seems like ages ago. The exhaustion from pulling an all-nighter in line, the press on location to cover the big iPhone debut. Amid the flurry of emotions walking into the AT&T store and buying the iPhone, I remember taking a look at the accessories. I also remember that one of the cases on the accessory rack caught my eye: the iPhone HipCase from DLO.
You should know that the HipCase looks just as good on the outside as it does when you take it out of the packaging. It is made of sturdy black or brown leather and is very comfortable to wear on your belt. What I really like about this case is clearly the designers at DLO thought about a practical and useful iPhone case rather than just defaulting to a case that happens to loop on a belt.
The notches on the case allow the wearer to plug in and listen to music while wearing it on your belt. Another advantages of the notches is what DLO touts as “Quick, single-handed iPhone access and retrieval.” My iPhone fit very snug… more...
